Pappy Boyington and the Black sheep Squadron
Pappy Boyington became a flying ace during the Second World War. His fame increased tenfold long after the end of the war thanks to the television series “Ba ba black sheep”.
Gregory “pappy” or “pepe” Boyington learns to fly in the US Marine Corps. An instructor, he tired of teaching and resigned to join the Flying Tigers in China. He flies the P40 “Warhawk”.
Shortly after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, he left the Flying Tigers to join the Marines, and soon took command of VMF-214. Together with his pilots, he chose the unit’s nickname “the black sheep”. He ended the war with 28 aerial victories.
The “les têtes brulées” series is loosely based on Pappy BOYINGTON’s ecasdrille and will make the VMF-214 and its boss famous!
