Metal Earth model to assemble SPIRIT OF SAINT LOUIS
The Spirit of St. Louis is the plane used by the American aviator Charles Lindbergh to make the first solo aerial crossing of the Atlantic Ocean and without stopover, on May 20 and 21, 1927, flying from New York to Paris. It is named in honor of the generous donors of the city of Saint Louis who helped Lindbergh achieve his feat. To cross the Atlantic, Lindbergh had chosen to use as much fuel as possible, dispensing with a parachute and radio to lighten the plane. The main tank, between the pilot and the engine prevented any visibility towards the front, obliging to use a periscope to pilot!
